CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS
About this product
Range builders who finish their own frames still want one pistol that is done the day it arrives. CZ built the DUTY 4.0 for that job: a striker-fired 9x19mm with a serialized internal chassis, a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame and a 4-inch barrel that is not threaded. Because the chassis carries the serial number, the grip frame is a modular part, which is a design idea anyone who works with polymer frames will recognize right away.
Pick the C compact for 15+1 rounds (17+1 with the extended base plate) at 770 g and 135 mm tall, or the F full-size for 17+1 (19+1 extended) at 780 g and 143 mm tall. Both share the 188 mm overall length, 33 mm width, fixed sights and a direct-mount optics-ready slide. MS versions add a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. The refined SFDA trigger breaks at about 5.6 lbs with a 4 mm reset. MSRP is $729.
CZ built the DUTY around a registered chassis that the polymer frame module wraps around, the same idea that lets a owner change frame size without buying a new registered gun. The trigger is a refined SFDA striker unit, 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) pull, 4 mm (0.16 in) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel. The slide takes optics by direct mounting; CZ's product photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield units in place. Sights are fixed, the 4-inch barrel is not threaded.
Capacity on the service-size is 17+1 standard and 19+1 with the extended base plate. Height 143 mm (5.6 in), empty weight 780 g (27.7 oz). It is the duty-belt, range and home-defense version of the line, and the one most owners find easiest to shoot well.
MS stands for manual thumb safety. This model adds a thumb lever to the passive safeties every DUTY has: the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the trigger-bar safety. Agencies and owners who want a positive on/off control choose this version; the trigger itself is unchanged.
The CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: home defense, duty use, competition and long range sessions where the extra grip and two more rounds matter.
Every DUTY 4.0 sold here is a serialized firearm, so it ships to the FFL dealer you pick at checkout rather than to your door. Your dealer runs the required paperwork and applies the rules of your state when you come in to collect it. If you are not sure which local dealer to use, choose one before you order so the transfer goes smoothly. Frames, lowers and parts from our bundles still ship direct.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the DUTY 4.0 come ready for a red dot?
- The slide is cut for direct mounting, and CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield red dots fitted. Fixed iron sights are installed from the factory.
- Which part of the DUTY 4.0 carries the serial number?
- The internal chassis is the serialized part. That is why the polymer grip frame is modular, and it is also why the pistol must transfer through an FFL dealer.
- Is the CZ DUTY 4.0 F MS the same gun as the F?
- Yes, apart from the manual thumb safety. Chassis, trigger, slide and the 17+1 capacity are identical.
- Who should pick the MS version?
- Anyone trained on a manual safety or who wants a positive on/off control, including many agency buyers.
